CCB, you're right, I need to niche-ify. That's part of what I meant about "finding my voice" - this really is the most competitive corner of the blogosphere. I figure I'll just keep writing, and my focus will establish itself. And then I'll tweak the tags.
Speaking of nofollows, there's a Firefox extension that will highlight them:

Pretty helpful...

Also, remember that your meta keywords and description will be more beneficial if they're tailored to be more specific. You're competing against five billion other blogs with the keyword "blogging", but if you narrow the playing field down a bit with "technology blog", "social media blog", etc, that helps on the search engines. Better to rank high for specific terms than rank not at all for generic ones. Also, meta keyword order counts.

Other stuff: Make sure you have proportionate links coming in, and going out. If you don't want to get too link-heavy with outbound links that don't link back, a rel="nofollow" in the a tag will keep Google from counting it as an outbound link.

Link checker software is good to run every few weeks to make sure you become aware of any links that go bad after a while.

Congrats on your traffic! It's a good blog.
